Sales Evangelist: How our opinions of the economy mirror sales mojo

<—(This could be your sales orders)
Sales people tend to take the next two weks off. It mokes no sense, but they decide that everyone is going to be out of the office or too busy to want to work with them. This is just folly and costs many startups deals that could be booked sooner than later.
In my last post on buying evangelists, I pushed the webosphere to go out and spend. My wife and I did our part and spent almost all of what we had budgeted for presents yesterday. Yes lines were long, yes people were frantic, but it was fun and we accomplished our mission. Not only that, but the holiday shopping is complete and now we can relax. (more…)
Tommorow we should all be buying evangelists
An important shift from the focus of the blog. This one could also be titled, I do not often quote George the moron Bush.
If you plan to do any holiday shopping, then for the sake of the economy, do it tomorrow. See Black Friday, or the Friday after Turkey Day is a day of judgment. If the day proves to be healthy to the retail market, the Dow Jones will sky rocket over the next week, confidence will rise, and consumers will spend even more money on the holidays. If the days outcome is gloomy, the Dow will plummet and people will horde what they have in fear.
It is sad, but this is the truth of our eonomic state. At this point, for many of us, it truly is a state of mind. Look, before you get mad at me, Phil Gramm is a moron and we are not a bunch of whiners. If you are broke and not sure where the rent, mortgage, or next bag of groceries is coming from, then I am not talking to you. If you are in those sorts, what are you doing reading my blog, perhaps you should walk away from the computer and go find a new way to earn a living!
For the rest of you, the 99.9% of the people reading this, go spend every penny you plan to spend on Friday. Look you still have a job, you plan to spend the money anyways, why not help this cycle of sales. A quick series of events:
- The market gets bad news
- People start panicking and selling stock
- Stock prices fall
- Companies do not have the cash flow needed to operate
- Cuts are made in spending and people lose their jobs
- A few less people have money to spend
- More bad news to the market
- See #2 and repeat
So if we spend tomorrow, and believe me I am suggesting you spend exactly what you had budgeted, then this will happen:
- The market gets good news
- People get excited and buy up more stock
- Stock prices rise
- Companies have the cash flow to spend and operate efficiently
- More people are added to businesses as buying and selling loosens
- A few more people have money to spend
- More good news to the market
- See #2 and repeat
While this is a bit of an over simplification of the ridiculous economic structure of modern day capitalism, it is the place we are at this Holiday Season. So please, tomorrow become a buying evangelist. You are buying presents that could lead to someone else getting job, and perhaps a way out of this horrid financial crisis. Better to give it to your friends and family than to no one in the form of another bail out.

Some messages to the free market world:
To all the news men, politicians, and loud mouths out there, I have one thing to say. SHUT UP!!! You are only making matters worse by ruining the average person’s ability to maintain focus on their day to day.
For all of you that still have a job. STOP FREAKING OUT. The more you change your behavior the more you hurt the current situation. If you still have a job and you are not in bad shape, then take care of your needs and your family. Little Johnny can still get a Christmas, and you should still spend in a smart manner.

Free writing on the Strategy of a Sales Evangelist
What is the strategy of a sales person? Should it not be created by those in charge? Surely they have the experience to guide us in our objectives. We do not have time to consider these things we must freely reduce our activities to those that are most effective.
Initially you strategy must focus on who you are going to contact. To find success and repeat it, you must hone to a zone. Spread your wings wide and reach out with diversity in mind. This is a strategy to uncover who you offering appeals to and how you should communicate with them.
