<—(This could be your sales orders)
Sales people tend to take the next two weks off. It mokes no sense, but they decide that everyone is going to be out of the office or too busy to want to work with them. This is just folly and costs many startups deals that could be booked sooner than later.
In my last post on buying evangelists, I pushed the webosphere to go out and spend. My wife and I did our part and spent almost all of what we had budgeted for presents yesterday. Yes lines were long, yes people were frantic, but it was fun and we accomplished our mission. Not only that, but the holiday shopping is complete and now we can relax.
The core reason was that a good Black Friday could potentially move us into a positive economic cycle is the same logic behind getting your startup into a quarter flooded with new business. It is the psychology of success breeding success. This quick sales rant is my quick pep talk to the Sales Evangelists out there. Carry this into your Monday morning.
Visualize a purchase order coming in a morning email. If it is not there believe you already have one and use that excitement to get more. Believe your pipeline had a Black Friday and take that mojo into everything you do. Remember the average sales person is holding back. The lines are thinning out and you can take advantage. Go forth and achieve when others are digessting their tryptophan laden Turkey. Go forth and take advantage of the misconceptions of others.
