Sales Rant – Keep believing that things are bad and they will be

or A little face smacking Sales Training for all.

Some messages to the free market world:

To all the news men, politicians, and loud mouths out there, I have one thing to say. SHUT UP!!! You are only making matters worse by ruining the average person’s ability to maintain focus on their day to day.

For all of you that still have a job.  STOP FREAKING OUT. The more you change your behavior the more you hurt the current situation. If you still have a job and you are not in bad shape, then take care of your needs and your family. Little Johnny can still get a Christmas, and you should still spend in a smart manner.

For those of you who have been hit hard by this downturn. TAKE A LOOK IN THE MIRROR. No offense, but if you defaulted on a loan you could not afford, stayed in a job you new was getting outsources, or have amassed debt and now are in a pickle, you should have seen this coming. Some of you have been legitimately screwed, and to you I say sorry. The rest of you, start thanking your lucky stars you do not live in Darfur, Iraq, or one of the hundreds of countries riddled by hatred and neglect(can you say 9th ward?).

Now, finally to the sales perople that are whining that the economy is hurting them. Go find another job! If you are truly great at sales Now IS YOUR TIME. This is why you paid attention in Sales Training. This is why you worked so hard to hone your skills. You did psy attention didn’t you? You have been constantly looking for new opportunity and staying on top of the climate of your current clients, right? Well, if not, do not fret. It is time to start making some changes. It is time to make up for lost time. The true stars shine in times of down turning economies. The companies with the best sales teams actually grow when times are tough.

Now before you all think I am some raving free market maniac, I am about as liberal and progressive as they come. i believe that man bad decisions have caused us to fall into this economic tar put. I also believe that it could not have happened without our help. We were not blind to the decisions of this administration, and many of you that are hurting voted for GW…twice!

But hey, keep believing that things are as bad as they can get and they will be. Keep blaming your misfortunes on others and you will never find the way to see new opportunities. No matter what situation you are in, you can find a way out. But only if you believe.
